"Tell You Now" is the only song on the album This Island produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. Ocasek had an active involvement in crafting the song and also helped the band shape their sound by giving the band a few "pop tricks". Fateman later commented on working with Ocasek: "That was an interesting experience working with him, but we never worked with anyone that early in the process who listened to our demo of the song and had structuring ideas and had someone who’s really a master of the pop formula. Le Tigre (/ləˈtiːɡrə/) was an electronic rock band formed in 1998 in New York City, coming out of the riot grrl movement. Members were vocalist Kathleen Hanna (formerly of punk rock band Bikini Kill), guitarist Johanna Fateman, and Sadie Benning; producer JD Samson joined in 2001. Le Tigre was known for its left-wing politics and feminist lyrics, as well as adding multimedia and performance art to their live shows. As of 2010, Kathleen Hanna now plays in The Julie Ruin.
